GENERIC HIV DNA Cell [RUO]
While viral load of plasma HIV-1 is a biological marker that quantifies the number of viruses that are circulating, HIV-1 cellular DNA quantifies the number of infected cells in a latent or productive way.
GENERIC HIV DNA Cell is a research test as part of the evaluation of the HIV-1 reservoir.
This test relies on two main technical stages:
1. DNA extraction by manual method (ex. : silica-based membrane technology),
2. Real-time PCR amplification of the extract DNA and detection by TaqMan technology.
Features :
-
Targeted region: LTRs (Long Terminal Repeat)
-
Detection limit: 40 VIH-1/10E6 leucocytes DNA copies
-
Special features HIV-1 : Group M, sub-types A to H
-
Duration : 2 h 30 (extraction + amplification)
-
Type of sample : human whole-blood collected on an EDTA tue, dry or red cell pellet, cell tris or biopsy
